This week, our parish is starting a six-week program called LIFT, which stands for “Living in Faith Together”.

The LIFT journey invites each of us to take a deep dive into how our parish has been a blessing to each of us, and to daily reflect with gratitude on the gifts and resources God has given each individual, family, parish, and our outer community that we take for granted.

Throughout the coming weeks, we’ll explore how we embody gratitude, truly trust in God, and then prayerfully consider how we can respond and further support our parish through our gifts.

To begin this process, we ask everyone to complete a short survey centered around the core question: How has this parish been a blessing to you and your family?

WEEK 2: Prayer Card

As we continue our LIFT (Living in Faith Together) journey, this week’s focus is on prayer—the foundation of a grateful steward’s life. A grateful heart is formed by spending time every day in prayer. As we deepen our commitment to daily prayer, we become more aware of God’s blessings, grow in trust, and learn to respond with joyful gratitude.

If you’re looking for a simple place to begin, consider praying a Morning Offering each day. By entrusting the day to God before anything else, we learn to see every moment as a gift and every opportunity as a chance to love and serve Christ. To help make this prayer a daily habit, we’ve developed a prayer card that is available below. The prayer card includes a Morning Offering, an Evening Prayer, and a prayer asking that our Family of Parishes can be a blessing to more people.

This week, take a few moments to pray the prayers on this card, thanking God for His many blessings, and asking Him to help you continue to grow as a faithful disciple.

WEEK 3: Booklet of Gratitude

As we continue our LIFT journey, this week’s focus is gratitude. Every blessing we enjoy—our faith, our families, our parish, and the gifts we’ve received – come from our Loving God. As the book of James reminds us, “Every perfect gift is from above” (James 1:17).

As we celebrate Mass this week, we are also reminded that the word Eucharist means “thanksgiving” – gratitude is at the very heart of the “source and summit of the Christian life.” This week, spend a few moments each day thanking God for His blessings and asking how He is inviting you to share those blessings with others.

To help with your reflection on gratitude, everyone is invited to take a booklet of gratitude with you to use as a journaling tool in your prayer time this week. These booklets are available below.

WEEK 4: Bulletin Insert

This week we reflect on the Spiritual Blessings of generous giving.

Jesus teaches us, “Where your treasure is, there also will your heart be” (Matthew 6:21). When we give back to God, our hearts become more like His.

Today’s bulletin insert features a story on how putting God at the center and trusting all to Him can set a course for peace, happiness and trust, as well as what it means to sacrificially give.

Giving is not simply about supporting the mission of the Church. It is also about allowing God to transform our hearts. Every act of generosity draws us closer to Christ and helps us become the disciples He calls us to be.

WEEK 5: Commitment Weekend

After several weeks of prayer and reflection, every household is invited to prayerfully consider a commitment to start or increase financial support to the mission of our parish. Your gifts allow our parish to proclaim the Gospel, celebrate the sacraments, serve those in need, and form future disciples.

Your commitment is not simply a financial decision, but an expression of gratitude for what you already have and trust in God’s continued work and guidance in your lives.

St. Paul writes, “God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7).

WEEK 6: Thank You

Thank you for your prayerful participation in our LIFT (Living in Faith Together) journey. Over the past several weeks we have reflected on prayer, gratitude, trust, generosity, and our shared mission as disciples of Jesus Christ.

While the LIFT process is finsihed, our commitment to supporting the parish and our overall commitment to a life of Christian stewardships continues every day. As we hear in the first book of John, “We love because God first loved us” (1 John 4:19). God initiates and we respond – in gratitude for His many blessings and complete trust in His continued presence and help.

May we continue to grow as a parish community that prays faithfully, gives generously, and joyfully proclaims the Gospel. Thank you for being a blessing to our parish community.
