Irene Thauer

1904-2002

Irene R. Thauer, 98, of Watertown, died Dec. 10, 2002 at Watertown Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services were held at St. Henry’s Church. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

The former Irene Molzahn was born Feb. 27, 1904, daughter of Joseph and Rose Molzahn. On Aug. 14, 1962, she married Richard C. Thauer at St. Henry Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on Oct. 11, 1977. Irene was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church and a former member of the Watertown Saturday Club, Ladies of the Elks, Watertown Hospital Auxiliary and Watertown Country Club.

Survivors include a sister, Dorothy Coogan of Watertown; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was further preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Florence Molzahn and Helen McGinty; and two brothers, Fred Molzahn and Gerald Molzahn.
