Leo Ruesch

On
Monday evening at Riverside Park a
large number of relatives joined Mr. and Mrs. Ruesch
and immediate family in a wedding feast.
Mr. and Mrs. Ruesch
were married on
At the age of 13 Mr. Ruesch entered the shoe business. He worked in the shop of his father, Fred Ruesch, where the Boetter
meat market in
Mr. Ruesch’s
son, Fred, is engaged in the shoe business with him. Altogether, Mr. Ruesch has been in the shoe business 65 years. He is now 78 years of age and his wife 75
years.
A dinner for about 45 friends and
relatives was served at the Green Bowl Tea Shop at

They are the parents of two sons,
Fred and, Arthur, and two daughters, Miss Leona Ruesch,
and Sister Bascalis (Frances).
The most hearty
congratulations of the citizens of Watertown and hosts of friends elsewhere are
extended to this worthy couple and trust they will live in good health and
happiness to celebrate many more anniversaries.
In the Watertown Gazette of
"A pleasant wedding of interest
to our citizens took place at the Clyman Catholic
church. Rev. Father Murphy, officiating, Tuesday morning, June 23, 1885, being
that of Leo Ruesch of this city, and Miss Brigada Holstine of the former
place. Joseph Holstine,
brother of the bride, and Frances Ruesch, sister of
the groom, attended the young couple. The wedding party was a pleasant one, and
a number of friends and relatives of the contracting parties from this city
were present.
“Mr. Ruesch,
who is one of Watertown’s noblest young men, has resided here from his
childhood, and has a very large acquaintance who wish
him on this happy occasion all the happiness possible. His bride is a very amiable young lady
competent to make a bright and happy home for herself and husband. May their matrimonial career be strewn with roses.”
