Hubert
Kreuziger
1895-1918
Private Hubert Kreuziger, age 23,
died at Camp Grant, Rockford, Illinois.
He has suffered an attack of Spanish influenza which later developed
into pneumonia.
Private Kreuziger was born
Interment was in the parish cemetery.
He was survived by his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. John Kreuziger, Route 1, a sister, Miss Helen Kreuziger, and a
brother, Leo Kreuziger. He was also
survived by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Kreuziger, and his
grandmother, Mrs. Barbara Langer, Watertown.
Private Kreuziger was well known in
the city and he was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Watertown council.
The body was brought to the city
over the Northwestern railroad and taken to the home at Route 1.
Funeral services were held at St.
Henry’s Church. It was a military
funeral. Two squads of the Ninth
Separate Co., Wisconsin State Guards Reserve, with a corp squad attended along
with the local council of the Knights of Columbus, of which Kreuziger was a
member. Six brother Knights of Columbus
acted as pallbearers. They were James W.
O’Brien, Raphael Casey, James Casey, William Klecker, Charles Kreuziger, and
Walter Dolan.
