Joseph Engelhart

1915 - 2004

 

 

Joseph F. Engelhart, 88, of Watertown, formerly of 506 S. Third St., Watertown, died June 1, 2004, at Beverly Terrace Health Care in Watertown.

 

A Mass of Christian burial was held at St. Henry’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Bernard Rott officiating. Burial was in St. Henry’s Cemetery.

 

Joseph was born December 24, 1915, in Watertown, son of Joseph and Mary (Neumann) Engelhart. On June 17, 1944, he married the former Evelyn Weber at St. Henry’s.

 

Joseph attended Fairview Country School in Grellton. He served his country in the United States Army Infantry during World War II and had been employed at Brandt Automatic Cashier in Watertown from 1944 until retiring in 1978.

 

Joseph was a member of St. Henry’s and its former Holy Name Society. He was also a member of American Legion Post No. 189 of Watertown, the 40 et 8, Watertown Senior Center and the machinists union.

 

Joe enjoyed creating small craft projects and was an avid woodworker all of his life.
