Herbert Boelter

(1898 - 1949)

Herbert J. Boelter, 51, 612 West Green Street, died October 26, 1949 at St. Mary's Hospital. He had suffered a stroke.

Mr. Boelter, who was a lifelong resident of the city, was born on Jan. 31, 1898, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Boelter. He attended St. Henry's parochial school.

On Feb. 25, 1930 he married Miss Edna Blaesius, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Max Blaesius, the wedding taking place in St Bernard's Church.

Mr. Boelter was a member of St. Henry's Church and the Holy Name Society.

He operated a meat market here at 201-203 North Water Street, having started his business in that location in about 1925. Before his death his two sons had been assisting him in the business and familiarizing themselves with the operation of the business.

Mr. Boelter was a conscientious business man who devoted long hours to his establishment and its operation. He became widely known in the community for his fine meats and the first rate services of his market.

Funeral services were held in St. Henry's Church with the Rev. A. H. Foltz officiating. Interment was in St. Henry's Cemetery.
